Sarah Overmyer is a transportation researcher at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). Ms. Overmyer’s work focuses on issues related to freight policy including trade, economic development, infrastructure, and the environment. Ms. Overmyer has worked extensively with freight, trade, and demographic data in order to provide context and make recommendations regarding economic and infrastructure developments. Ms. Overmyer is interested in data visualization and communicating complex issues to non-specialist audiences. Ms. Overmyer’s research prior to entering the transportation field included analyses of poverty alleviation programs in Latin America, and the economic effects on cities hosting mega-events, such as the Olympic Games and World Cup. Ms. Overmyer has specialized knowledge of issues related to commercial traffic at the U.S.-Mexico border. Ms. Overmyer is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and has done work in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. |
