Seconded National Expert at the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA)

Maximilian is an Austrian lawyer with more than 15 years of experience in transport and innovation policy, currently working as a Seconded National Expert at the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) in Prague, Czech Republic.
His current responsibilities include the whole range of EU Space policy, including with regard to transport.

Before, he worked in the Austrian Ministry for transport on issues of transport research, trends in transport and economy and trade and transport with an international focus. He was especially involved in shaping the ministry’s policy with regard to trade aspects and especially the EU’s trade agreements with third countries and their effects on the transport sector. Thereby, he adds a European and policy making perspective to the work of the committee, as well as the issues of market access and trade in services. In addition, he worked on questions of economic and political integration and disintegration and the respective consequences for transport, research and innovation.
Maximilian represented his country and the EU as such  in several international bodies dealing with transport, research and economics, such as the EU, OECD/ITF or the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
Previous experiences include also several years as a seconded national expert for environmental affairs in inland and maritime shipping at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Transport and Mobility (MOVE) in Brussels/Belgium and the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) in Lisbon/Portugal, as well as the position of a legal assistant at the Supreme Court of Administration of the Republic of Austria in Vienna/Austria.
