Elisa Arias retired in 2022 from SANDAG, the metropolitan planning organization for the San Diego Region, as Director of Integrated Transportation Planning. Ms. Arias has more than 30 years of experience in transportation planning and economic analysis. She managed several U.S.-Mexico border studies, including the studies that estimated economic and air quality/climate impacts of border delays in the San Diego-Baja California border region as well as the 2008 and 2014 California-Baja California Border Master Plans. Ms.Arias oversaw the development of several Regional Transportation Plans, including the Regional Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy adopted in 2021. Ms.Arias was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master’s degree in Economics from San Francisco State University. |
