James Sassin is a senior consultant at Fugro Land USA, INC. Mr. Sassin is a Master of Public Administration and Professional Civil Engineer with advanced academic training and experience in international transportation policy. He has worked and lived in Europe in two separate stints. He is knowledgeable and passionate regarding the need for effective planning and policy development to foster efficient and secure corridors for international transportation. He has direct experience in analysis and policy recommendations in the United States and Europe. Mr. Sassin has an earned reputation for exceptional design, project, and program leadership and for bringing large and complex projects to completion on time and within budget. He is also a published author with proven consultative strengths in policy analysis and development, transportation planning, presentations, and negotiations. Mr. Sassin manages staff and projects focused on Asset Management, Pavement Management and Pavement Research. He has initiated a market segment to the company focused on policy issues related to rural roadways. Mr. Sassin has three and a half decades of experience working on many types of facilities. His experience is unique, covering all aspects of the planning and engineering process for both roadway and railway systems as well as large public works projects. During his ten years with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), he worked in the Yoakum, Bryan, and Austin Districts as well as in their headquarters in Austin (Highway Design Division). As a result of his extensive experience, he has an understanding of the complexities of taking any highway or railway project from its formulation through final construction. |
