Dr. Mary R. Brooks is Professor Emerita at Dalhousie University’s Rowe School of Business. In 2016, she was appointed Chair of the Marine Board of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. She has been active in the work of the Transportation Research Board (Washington DC) since 1993, chairing its Committee on International Trade and Transportation, serving on the Committee for Funding Options for Freight Transportation Projects of National Significance, and is currently on the Executive Committee of TRB. She has chaired two International Transport Forum Roundtables for the OECD, and was an invited participant at the ITF Roundtable on Logistics Development Strategies and their Performance Measurement, March 2015 in Querétaro, Mexico. She currently chairs the Council of Canadian Academies Assessment on Social and Economic Value of Commercial Marine Shipping in Canada. Dr. Brooks is well known for her work on competition policy in liner shipping, port strategic management, and short sea shipping in Canada, the U.S., South America, and Australia. She has authored and published more than 25 books and technical reports, more than 25 book chapters, and more than 85 articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals. |
